Customer Service Representative / Shred Truck Operator / Driver
About the Role
As a Shred Truck Operator, your day will start at our shop with a safety inspection of your mobile shredding truck. From there, you’ll drive to customer locations, securely collect documents, shred them on-site, and deliver exceptional service along the way. No two days are exactly alike. You may have anywhere from 1 to 25 stops per day, and many customers are on recurring monthly schedules. You’ll also occasionally assist with electronic media destruction (hard drives, backup tapes, flash drives, and more), either in the field or at our shop. Full training is provided.
What You’ll Do
Core Responsibilities
- Perform on-site destruction of confidential paper documents
- Safely operate mobile shredding trucks and shredding equipment
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service
- Securely collect, transport, and destroy sensitive materials
- Complete daily safety inspections of trucks and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of the truck cab and shredding compartment
- Dispose of shredded materials at a secure recycling facility
- Fuel, clean, and prep trucks for the next day’s route
Additional Duties
- Assist with electronic media destruction
- Work occasionally at the shop for special destruction projects
- Help maintain clean, shared vehicles for team use
Schedule & Hours
- Monday – Friday, first shift
- Start time typically between 6:30am – 8:00am
- Finish between 4:00pm – 5:30pm
- Major holidays off
- Optional Saturday Shred Events (scheduled weeks in advance and paid as additional work)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Frequent lifting of paper and document bins
- Most jobs are ground-level or elevator accessible
- Occasional stair jobs (team support provided)
- Stair bonus pay for jobs requiring stairs
- Use of 4‑wheeled bins to reduce physical strain

Requirements
- Clean driving record (CDL not required)
- Ability to pass:
- Criminal background check
- Drug screen
- Motor vehicle record check
- DOT physical
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Spanish-speaking skills a plus
Pay & Benefits
Compensation
- $1,000 monthly salary + $16/hour
- Hourly pay increase after 90-day probation
- Bi-weekly payroll (every other Friday)

- Sales commission:
- 10% of first-year revenue for referred contracts
- Stair bonus for physically demanding jobs
- Annual performance & profit-based bonus
