About Abraham's Shredding

Abraham’s Shredding is a local, family-owned document destruction and recycling company serving businesses, residents, and government organizations across southeastern Wisconsin and northeastern Illinois. With more than 50 years of combined industry roots, we provide secure, dependable solutions for protecting confidential information and safely disposing of outdated records.

We specialize in flexible document destruction services designed to meet the needs of both businesses and households. Our services include on-site and off-site shredding, hard drive and electronic destruction, document pick-up services, and convenient walk-in drop-off options.

At Abraham’s Shredding, we believe that protecting sensitive information is about more than compliance — it’s about trust. That’s why every project we handle is guided by three core values: personal service, security, and complete customer satisfaction.

As Larry Bangs explains:

We keep confidential information confidential. Old information that’s no longer needed is more a liability than an asset. If it gets into the wrong hands, it can cause real harm.”

Our goal is to provide safe, simple, and reliable shredding solutions while building lasting relationships with the people and organizations we serve.

Our Story

The history of Abraham’s Shredding reflects the same entrepreneurial spirit that continues to guide the company today.

Our roots trace back to two family-run businesses:

  • KARD Shredding, founded in Waukesha County in 1975
  • Abraham’s Shredding, founded in Twin Lakes in 1999

Both companies were originally operated from home by husband-and-wife teams who built strong reputations through personalized service and community relationships.

In 2016, Larry and Christina Bangs acquired Abraham’s Shredding and continued that tradition of customer-focused service. In 2024, they expanded the company by acquiring KARD Shredding, bringing both operations together under one roof in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

Today, Abraham’s Shredding continues to grow while maintaining the personal approach that defined the original businesses.

When you contact us, your call will never be routed through an automated system. You’ll speak directly with a member of our team who will help you find the safest and most efficient solutions for your document destruction needs.

Meet the Owners

Larry and Christina Bangs

Larry and Christina Bangs became co-owners of Abraham’s Shredding in 2016, fulfilling a longtime dream of building and running their own business.

Both have strong ties to the Milwaukee area. Larry grew up in Hales Corners, and Christina on the north side of Milwaukee. The two met while attending Marquette University and have now been together for more than 30 years.

Their backgrounds complement the business perfectly:

  • Christina previously worked in inside sales, customer service, and software support.
  • Larry spent many years in banking, gaining extensive experience in security, compliance, and financial regulations.

In the early days of running the company, Christina handled scheduling, customer calls, and daily operations while Larry drove the shredding truck and met with clients in the field.

As Larry puts it:

I went from wearing wingtips to safety toe boots overnight.”

Although the company has grown and expanded its staff, Larry and Christina remain actively involved in daily operations. Customers often interact directly with the owners from their very first phone call.

Christina says the relationships built with the clients are one of the most rewarding parts of the business:

The comment we hear the most is that the person our customers dealt with was really nice, knowledgeable, and made them feel comfortable. People are giving us all their secrets, so it’s important they trust us.”

Outside of work, Larry and Christina enjoy spending time with their two adult children and relaxing at their lake cabin. They share a love of travel and hope to one day walk the historic Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route in Spain.

Christina enjoys podcasts focused on personal development, while Larry spends his free time playing tournament-level Texas Hold’em and enjoying shooting sports — though, as he jokes, he may be retiring from snowboarding after some encouragement from Christina.
